We are the footprint we leave
Caring for our society
At Bécquer, we believe in the power of our actions and in our connection with society and the environment in which we live, especially with the city of Seville.
We are the footprint we leave behind. As human beings, we have the responsibility to influence our surroundings and improve the life around us. Together, step by step, we build a better future.”
What do we do?
We participate in various activities organized in the city, such as the night race of Sevilla, which we also ran in 2022 for a charitable cause, supporting the “warrior” girls in our team who fight every day to move forward.
What do we do?
We collaborate with associations of different kinds, both local and foreign, such as the Food Bank of Seville, the Cancer Association, the Polígono Sur Shelter, or the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, among others.
What do we do?
We help distribute food, drinks, and clothing to the Night Brigade for homeless people in the center of Seville.
What do we do?
We join different waste collection outings organized by Ok Planet Sevilla or the Coca-Cola Foundation to collect accumulated garbage along the banks of the Guadalquivir River.
What do we do?
Every Christmas we organize the Royal Mailman and the solidarity snack so that all the boys and girls in the area can leave their letter to the Three Kings, receive a little gift, and invite anyone who wants to have a hot drink and some pastries. Whoever wishes to do so, can leave a donation that is later used to make a large purchase for the Food Bank of Seville.
What do we do?
We contribute, whenever we can, our grain of sand collecting necessary products after a natural disaster or an urgent need in cases like the earthquake in Turkey, the war in Ukraine, the volcano in La Palma…
What do we do?
We bet on the local economy, hiring local or nearby suppliers, supporting quality products and, whenever possible, environmentally friendly or sustainable sourced products.
What do we do?
We encourage the “zero single-use plastics” policy that we have slowly been implementing throughout the hotel, setting ourselves the goal of eliminating them completely by the year 2023.
What do we do?
We continuously recycle all the waste derived from our activity, and we encourage our guests to do the same by sorting the trash in the different three-phase bins they will find in their rooms as well as in the common areas.
What do we do?
We inform our guests through different signs about the importance of making a responsible use of energy or water, for example by avoiding the constant changing of sheets and towels, controlling the room’s temperature or excessive water usage.
What do we do?
We promote a responsible use of paper, increasingly using electronic formats in their different aspects, or in any case, recycled paper for practically 98% of our needs.
What do we do?
We replace single-dose amenities with dispensers, which help minimize product waste and unnecessary consumption of single-use plastic.
What do we do?
At hotel Bécquer we offer you the experience and possibility of driving an electric vehicle TESLA model 3.
Sustainability Plan
Our team is completely immersed in a Sustainability Plan that, hand in hand with our advisors in this field, helps us learn to be better in this area.
That is why we like to say that we carry out sustainable actions in the broadest sense of the word.
But what do we mean by sustainability?
To a clear commitment to environmental balance, social progress, and economic growth without harming natural resources.
But what do we mean by sustainability?
Tourism is one of the most powerful economic sources in our society, which is why we are aware that it is in our hands to approach it from the most sustainable perspective possible.
But what do we mean by sustainability?
With our Sustainability Plan, we want to give special relevance to environmental, governance, and social matters of our hotel that minimize the negative impact that poorly managed tourism can have.
But what do we mean by sustainability?
We also commit to measure our current carbon footprint in order to set the challenge of reducing it every year.
But what do we mean by sustainability?
We firmly believe that if everyone contributes their grain of sand, the world can become a much more sustainable and respectful place towards the environment that supports and surrounds it.
How to be a sustainable traveler.
We want you to come visit us, we want you to know our city, to enjoy it and fall in love with it, but we also want you to do it in the most sustainable way possible.
